Abstract of Title, Farnworth: William Hulton & John Crompton, 1691

Transcript of Abstract of Title

This Indenture made the first day of January in the yeare of our Lord God 1691 Betweene Wiliam Hilton of Hilton in the County of Lancaster Esqr of [the one part?] and James Crompton of Kersley in the said County Husbandman of the other ??? Wittneseth that ye said William Hilton for divers Good ????? him thereunto moveing? And especially for the Rent herein hereafter manconed and ???? Demised Granted Leased Sett and to ???? ???? And by those ????? doth demise grant lease sell and ?? ???? ??? unto him the said James Crompton and his Assignes all that dwelling house or Cottage together with the Croft and garden thereunto belonging situate lyeing and being in Farnworth in ye County aforesaid now in the possession of him ye said James Crompton or his Assignes together with a together with all ways watercourses common of pasture & turbary.  To have and to hold the said Dwelling House or Cottages with ye said Croft and Garden and all and singular ye premisses mencioned to be demised by those ????? unto ye said James Crompton his Executors Administrators and Assignes from and imediatly after ye day of the date of these ????? for and during the naturall lives of him ye said James Crompton, John Crompton & Henry Crompton his bretheren both of Farnworth aforesaid and the longest liver of them ????ing and paying unto the said William Hilton his ???? and Assignes during the said terme the Annual Rent of three shillings & four ???? of good and lawful English money att the severall fest days of Penticost and Saint Michaell th Archangle by ??? andequal porcons and One day Shearing or reaping of Corne in harvest with an able Reaper and one day ???? of turves yearely or the consideracon of six pence for each day And the said James Crompton doth ???? covenant for himself and Assignes to repair and keepe in hood repaire the said dwelling house or cottage with the Appetentes there unto belonging during the said terms and likewise to pay the abovesaid annuall Rent and Boones in Wittness where of the Paries first above names to these ???? Indentures interchangeably have sett their hands and sales the day and year above named.
